Modus Cinemas were contacted by the client to assist in the design scheme for a cinema room and bar area on the ground floor of their property in Kent, which was in the process of being renovated and extended. The initial concept and scheme put forward by the client was for a traditional style cinema, with a bar outside of the room creating a foyer. A mood board was produced with a traditional theme in mind, but after giving it some thought, the client decided they would like to consider something more contemporary.

Due to the client having uncertainties over the style and finish they were after for the room, conceptual renders were produced following a discovery session. The design concept produced impressed the client, and we were asked to provide a turn key solution due to the cinema room being outside of the main contractors scope. This incorporated dropping the ceiling height, building out the front wall to accommodate speakers and subwoofers, as well the rear platform for the second row of seating along with plastering and decoration. Bespoke wall panels with colour changing LED lighting, and a mixture of motorised and static curtains were also provided to complete the finishing and dressing of the room.
