Modus Cinemas were approached to design and specify a cinema room for a property that was being substantially extended and fully renovated near Orpington in Kent. The full scope of requirements and works also included a whole house smart home control system with 3rd party services integration, which incorporated integrated CCTV and gate entry, multi-room audio distribution, video distribution, lighting control and whole house wi-fi coverage.
 
The cinema room was to be located directly next to a bar and games room, and the space needed to work on its own, as well as both spaces working in conjunction with each other. There were a number of challenges to overcome and enable this to happen, not only from a performance perspective, but also aesthetically. The household comprised of 9 people, so a flexible seating arrangement was also imperative.
 
To allow speakers to be positioned where required, Artcoustic speakers were specified due to the flexibility of their product line. Silent Gliss Wave curtain tracks were also specified to separate the areas, and integrated with the whole house Control4 system for ease of use.
