Modus Cinemas were recommended to the client to design and install a suitable whole house AV system and dedicated home cinema room for a property near Canterbury in Kent, he was in the process of purchasing, and planning to fully renovate. Due to not having a cinema room previously, and the client being unsure of the look and feel he wanted for the room, 3D renders were produced to assist in providing a vision of how the room could look. Because of how much money was already being spent, the proposed cost to produce the finished cinema room detailed in the render designs exceeded the clients comfort zone, but he still liked the scheme produced. We then set about working out how to produce a similar look at a lower cost that would be acceptable. One of the main challenges was the lack of symmetry to the room due to large windows on two of the elevations, but we did however develop a concept that was in keeping, yet more cost effective.
Additional features such as a Starscape ‘starry night sky’ ceiling were retained, along with lighting control and bespoke fabric panelling, to ensure the room looked as good as it sounded, and provided a fully immersive and special experience.
